Rubbish bags were ripped apart, while waiting to be collected.

Potch residents were left fuming this past week when rubbish service removal was affected. Rubbish bags were ripped apart, while waiting to be collected.

According to the J.B. Marks Municipality the reason for these services not being rendered was due to the municipal strike that took place on Thursday, 24 March.

“The affected route that was supposed to be attended on Thursday was done yesterday (Monday, 28 March) as it’s on the schedule for Mondays and Thursdays,” the municipality said.

Municipal workers were seen in various areas until late in the evening trying to catch up on the back log.
All indications are that from today, 31 March, rubbish collection should carry on as normal.
