OH Frewin Printers and the Middelburg Observer, one of the oldest newspapers in South Africa, were founded by Oscar Henry Frewin in 1903. The museum was first suggested in 1982 by Dr Anton Rupert, who thought it would serve as a fitting memorial to Oscar Henry Frewin.

It is divided into sections of vintage press equipment, the darkroom and the press section with old and new articles of news breaking stories published by the Middelburg Observer.  Frewin not only founded the first-ever community newspaper in Middelburg, but is globally recognised as the “Father of Community Press”.The weekly newspaper is available in Middelburg, Belfast, Hendrina, Witbank and Groblersdal.

Church) the old Mhluzi Cemetery, the first hospital built-in 1918 in Mhluzi, as well as Sefoloshe House and Something Out of Nothing.
