Seven learners from The High School for Girls Potchefstroom recently achieved a top 20 provincial finish in the Afrikaans First Additional Language Olympiad.

Siné Schutte took first place in North West with Rievkah Boardman claiming second. Siné was also ranked 23rd in the top 100 at national level.

Seven of our learners placed in the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟮𝟬 in the North West Province in the Afrikaans First Additional Language Olympiad!

Laurette Strauss, Diya Zacaria, Alexandra Engelbrecht, Shukra Mabaso and Mokhapi Mashishi were also placed in the top 20 in North West.

𝗦𝗶𝗻é had an excellent month as she also achieved a national fourth place in the Beeld Poetry Competition in the Afrikaans First Additional Language category.

“Her thought-provoking poem, “𝘞𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘦𝘨?”, reflects on the difference between material wealth and true happiness, belonging and peace,” stated Potch Girls High on their Facebook page.
