A Potchefstroom legend has passed on

Uncle Dick was one of the most well-known community leaders who had a lasting legacy in Potchefstroom.

One of the most well-known and respected Potchefstroomers, William Richard “Dick” Daly sr, (born 27 December 1937) passed away on Monday, 23 May at the age of 84.
Dick and his family is well-known in Potchefstroom having created a lasting legacy as a community leader.
“Uncle Dick” as he was known, was an Old Boy of Potchefstroom Boys High School. He was also a member of the Governing Body, a parent, as well as a benefactor for many years.
“Our condolences go to his children Theo and Melissa, Sharon Pyburn and Phillip, Dicky and Lize and Andrew and Madelaine, as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren,” stated a post on the Potch Old Boys Facebook page.
