No scam: New contractor appointed for meter readings

Mr Ndiloduzi Floyd Mudau is a registered contractor.

Following rumours and speculation on social media, the J.B. Marks Local Municipality confirmed that a new contractor had been appointed to conduct meter readings on specific households where readings were not taken over a long period.

According to the acting municipal communication manager, Jeanette Tshite, this process will enable the municipality to regularise billing to customers and enhance its revenue processes and improve service delivery.
“The revenue section thus requests residents to allow Mr Ndiloduzi Floyd Mudau, Employee No. lfix0002134, Vehicle Registration KJS 619 NW (Contractor) onto their premises to get readings.

“Residents whose gates are usually locked during the day, making it impossible for the official to gain access to the meter, are requested to send a picture of their meter reading with an account number to officials who work with meters at the revenue section via email.”
