NWU Hockey men win promotion to USSA A-division

The NWU men’s hockey team celebrated a truly successful 2022 USSA campaign when they claimed the B-division title with a comprehensive 3-1 victory against the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN).

They now qualify for the 2023 USSA A-division competition after dominating all the opposition in this year’s B-division.

 

The NWU men had a stellar tournament taking down their opposition, including a 11-0 thumping of the Durban University of Technology and a 10-0 thrashing of Tshwane University of Technology.

NWU 11 – DUT 0

NWU 4 – Rhodes University 0

NWU 10 – TUT 0

NWU 2 – UWC 0

NWU 3 – UKZN – 1

The NWU Ladies team achieved a respectable third place finish in a tough USSA A-division tournament in 2022. The NWU went down to Tuks 2-1 in the semi-final, but manage to beat Wits 3-0 in the third/fourth place play-off match.
