Video: EFF members protest in front of NWU main gate
The gate was opened again at 11:00.
This morning (Wednesday, 15 March) at around 08:30 a group of 30 EFF supporters engaged in a peaceful protest in front of the main NWU Potchefstroom campus gate in Hoffman street.
The situation was under control with NWU Protection Services and SAPS on the scene. The gate was opened again at 11:00, after it had been closed since 08:30.
Captain Aafje Botma said that police are monitoring the situation. “As it is a peaceful protest we are only there to monitor and keep everyone safe. We will intercept should violence break out.”
