Safe bombed during business robbery in Potch Industria

Approximately 10 people, three of them armed, forcefully entered through the back door of the wholesaler.

Police are investigating a business robbery that occurred in Potchefstroom Industria at around midnight on Thursday (14 September).

According to NW police spokesperson, Lt. Col. Amanda Funani, approximately 10 people forcefully entered through the back door of a wholesaler. Three were carrying firearms, while the rest carried sticks.

Two security guards, who are between the ages of 30 and 40 where also injured during the incident.

“Two security guards were patrolling around the area when they noticed people breaking the fence. The suspects attacked the two securities guards who tried to stop them,” stated Funani.

Funani also mentioned that the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money after bombing a safe in search of cash.

“No arrests have been made at this stage. The suspects are also unknown,” stated Funani.
