Final in-person voter registration weekend set for August

The Electoral Commission is once again bringing voter registration closer to communities across the country.

South Africans who missed the first voter registration weekend will have one final opportunity to register ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections when the final in-person voter registration weekend takes place on August 1- 2.

The Electoral Commission is once again bringing voter registration closer to communities across the country, allowing eligible voters to register, update their voter registration details, or confirm that they are correctly registered before Election Day.

Residents are encouraged to visit their designated voting station during the registration weekend to ensure they are ready to cast their vote when South Africans head to the polls on 4 November 2026.

Voters can check their correct voting station by using the online voting station finder at “the Electoral Commission’s Voting Station Finder” (https://maps.elections.org.za/vsfinder/)

Those who prefer to register electronically can do so free of charge by visiting “the online voter registration portal

With just weeks remaining before the final in-person registration weekend, the Electoral Commission has urged all eligible voters to ensure their registration details are up to date so they can have their say in the upcoming Local Government Elections.
