Temporary system error affects electricity purchases in JB Marks

Residents in the JB Marks Local Municipality may experience difficulties when purchasing prepaid electricity.

Residents in the JB Marks Local Municipality may experience difficulties when purchasing prepaid electricity due to a temporary technical problem affecting the municipality’s utility system.

According to municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite, the issue occurred during the upload of arrear files to the utility system, which may impact some customers when attempting to buy electricity.

“We would like to inform all residents that a problem occurred during the upload of arrear files to the utility system. Unfortunately, this issue may affect customers when purchasing electricity. Our technical team is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of residents while we work to restore normal service,” said Tshite.

The municipality has assured residents that technicians are working to resolve the matter as a matter of urgency and normal service will be restored as soon as possible.

Residents experiencing problems when purchasing electricity are encouraged to remain patient while the technical team works to rectify the issue.
