Rape case reported four years after alleged incident

Ikageng Police are investigating an alleged rape of a minor after the victim’s family registered a case last month.

“It is alleged that the victim’s grandmother gave her R20 to buy chips at the local tuck shop. On her way, she was approached by a man who grabbed her and dragged her toward the informal settlement in Ext 6 near the dumping site. He allegedly raped her and robbed her of her money,” explained NW police spokesperson, Captain Majang Skalkie.

According to Skalkie, the rape case was opened on July 14 of this year at the Ikageng Police Station.

No suspect has been arrested yet. Investigation into the matter continues.
