DJ Zodi: One Man Show event draws sold out crowd
The event organiser, MD Marketing Solution and Events, stated that the waste clean-up took longer than expected, but that they wanted to do a thorough job. They were also satisfied with the economic opportunities the event created.
The DJ Zodi: One Man Show event held at the Trim Park from October 3-4 has drawn various opinions from Potch residents with some arguing that the length and time frame of the concert is not suitable in residential areas, while other feel that the event is an opportunity to enjoy entertainment, looking at the economic benefits.
One of the main points of concern was the clean=up with the Trim Park being littered with trash and debris when the show ended at around 06:00 on Sunday morning.
“The clean-up unfortunately took longer than initially expected due to the large amount of waste generated. Our waste management team was already cleaning throughout the event but with the event only concluding at around 06:00, there was still a significant amount of work to be done afterwards,” stated one of the event organisers, Donald Tumelo Nakedi of MD Marketing.
“We take full responsibility for ensuring that Trim Park is left in the same condition in which we found it and that is exactly what we have done. It may have taken us a little longer than anticipated but our priority was to make sure the job was done properly.”
By Monday afternoon the last pieces of trash were picked up and stage equipment was taken down.
DJ Zodi entertained the full house with tickets being sold out early on in the day. His beats and music had everyone in a party mood. He also brought on various special guests that created a non-stop musical experience.

“From our side, no incidents were reported and the event was 100% safe. We are extremely pleased with the turnout and most importantly, with the economic opportunities the event created for our local community. Our stalls were sold out, giving local vendors an opportunity to put bread on their tables, which is something we are particularly proud of,” added Nakedi.
On behalf of the MD Marketing team, he also appreciated the incredible support from the Potchefstroom community and the VOC.
“We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
