Potch hospital locates family of homeless patient

Potchefstroom Hospital finds a family’s embrace, for Molefi Sebitla’s return to a warm, familiar place.

Potchefstroom Hospital announced today that it has successfully located the family of Molefi Sebitla, a homeless patient who has been under their care since 3 August 2024. Sebitla, born on 4 September 1982, had been receiving treatment for hypoglycemia and pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) in Ward 9 following his recent re-admission.

The hospital’s efforts to reach out to the community were met with a positive response, and Sebitla’s family has now been found. According to hospital officials, arrangements are being made to transport Sebitla back to his family home, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital care to family support.

The hospital expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search, highlighting the power of community engagement in resolving such critical situations.
