NW Women want to get back on winning track at home this weekend

North West next face KZN Coastal at home at the Witrand Oval this coming 9 November in the One Day competition and 10 November for a T20 match against the same opponents.

The Senwes North West Dragons women suffered their first defeat in nearly two years when they succumbed to Western Province in both the One Day and T20 formats in Cape Town last weekend.

In the 50-over encounter, North West was bowled out for 85 before WP scored the necessary 86 runs to win by six wickets. The Proteas opener, Laura Wolvaardt, hit 49* (57) to steer her team to victory. In the T20-match, NW lost by 15 runs in a tight encounter. WP batted first, making 90 all out with Masabata Klaas (2/23) and Alyssa Erxleben (2/18) doing the damage.

The redheaded speedster, Nadine de Klerk, took 5/12 to restrict NW to only 75/8 in their 20 overs.
