North West Cricket and the JB Marks Municipality has entered into an agreement that will see the installation of a new scoreboard at the NWC Oval.
This is an important addition to the NWC Oval as the venue continues preparations to meet the required standards ahead of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
North West Cricket CEO Mr Tommy Phiri welcomed the agreement, highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving sustainable sporting development.
“The partnership between JB Marks Municipality and North West Cricket demonstrates what can be achieved when stakeholders come together with a shared vision for the development of sport and our communities. Investment in sporting infrastructure is an investment in our young people, our athletes and the future growth of cricket in our province. “On behalf of North West Cricket, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to JB Marks Municipality for this commitment and for contributing positively to the continued development of the NWC Oval.”
With the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup bringing global attention and renewed excitement to cricket in South Africa, the investment represents an important step forward for the NWC Oval and the surrounding community.
