“The Mayor must go” says protesters

Protesters in Hlala Kwabafileyo (Ward 16) yesterday (10 July) demanded the resignation of executive mayor Cllr. Kgotso Khumalo and the Municipal Manager, Dr. Blaai-Mokgethi.

They were protesting against the removal of residents from the Kanana settlement. The enraged protests continued today (11 July) until the mayor addressed the protesters who were clearly fed-up with the administration. The mayor showed up today at about 14:00 this afternoon.
