School celebrates one year

A North Riding school celebrates its young life.

The British International Preparatory School in North Riding celebrated its first birthday on 23 October.

The school opened on 29 January 2013 but began with their administration on 23 October last year. A few parents attended the celebration where a big cake with the school’s name was cut. Every class performed songs for the parents and everybody sang Happy Birthday. Marcus Oshry from the board of directors cut the cake while Stage 6 pupil Success Ijeh blew out the single candle.

Thereafter the parents and children enjoyed tea and birthday cake. The British International Preparatory School currently has 147 pupils aging from three to 13. Principal Joan Griebenouw explained that classes consist of a maximum of 25 pupils and the school runs from 8:30am to 4pm each day.
