For over 20 or so years there have been numerous issues with the roads in the industrial area in Kya Sand.
It now seems that repair on the roads are well underway.
The Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) has been congratulated for the good work that is happening in the area.
Ward 96 councilor Matome Mafokwane said, “this is a victory for the Kya Sand’s community.”
Mafokwane had first-hand experience with the construction on corner Berne and Precision, where JRA engineers showed him how the water from rain will be collected in pipes and transferred to the nearest river.
This will aid the effort made by the team in fixing pot holes on the road.
Corner of Berne and Elsecar streets are now resurfaced with tar to prevent potholes.
The construction of these roads is expected to be finished by 25 August.
