The epic fashion show
JOBURG - Are you a fashion lover? Do you enjoy the finer things in life? AfriBlossom is hosting their 'Evolution of Womenhood' fashion show on 5 September to celebrate women and style.
City of Johannesburg in partnership with AfriBlossom is celebrating spring in style at the Old Bus Factory on 5 September with the launch of the Evolution of Womanhood fashion spectacular.
Bonolo Matabose, founder of AfriBlossom, a Randburg-based fashion house, will be showcasing some of her exclusive designs.
“This launch is a celebration of the Evolution of Womanhood, from birth to twilight years, showcasing real, confident women in stylish, fashionable clothing,” said Matabose.
Matabose is using the fashion, as a way of showcasing her experience with Blount disease (a growth disease that affects the shin bone) to build a better life for other young women suffering from the disease.
“My struggle will not become my identity… I have learned to love myself despite my physical differences and I hope that my clothing will enable others to do the same,” she said.
A portion of the funds raised will be donated to the Walk-a-Mile Centre Trust to fund pro bono corrective surgeries for children with orthopaedic needs.
Matabose stated that, “If the funds that will be donated to Walk-a-Mile can help even just one other person feel that joy and freedom, it will be worth every ounce of time that went into creating this range of clothing.”
The fashion show starts at 7pm at Old Bus Factory in Newtown, Johannesburg.
