Author of ‘Jozi Gold’ addresses Writers 2000
"Writing is a passion that becomes a discipline",author Leanne Hunt
Leanne Hunt, author of Jozi Gold, shared at the Writers 2000 meeting on 1 November how her journey started as a writer.
This is remarkable, as Hunt has suffered from muscular degeneration since her teens and is only partially sighted.
She said she is almost done with her second novel and she has taken part in productions of the amateur theatre group.
Her love for and being good at English directed her toward writing.
After receiving her degree, she worked as a journalist before marrying and starting a family.
“I wanted to be able to write really believable characters,” said Hunt.
Jozi Gold is about a love triangle and is set in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup.
The next Writers 2000 meeting and AGM will take place at the Lnyoni Creek Clubhouse, Rand Aid Complex, corner of Wordsworth and Modderfontein Roads, Lyndhurst on 29 November.
Members and guests are reminded to bring a plate of eats and a gift.
