Refreshing summer cocktail twist
FOURWAYS – Top mixologist Denzel Heath, adds flavour and flair to Southern Sun''s Montecasino menu.
Mixologist of the moment Denzel Heath, head trainer at Thirst Bar Services in Montecasino, has produced a smoked lime and marmalade Havana mojito.
His mixology is a refreshing look of an old favourite traditionally made using white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water, and mint.
Heath is one of the top three mixologists in South Africa and is renowned for creating signature drinks to satisfy any client or guest’s thirst.
He has 14 years of experience in both local and international mixology, as well as numerous bartending awards to his name, including the Bols Around the World 2013 and 2014 South African championship.
Heath serves his Havana mojito by mixing lime, mint, rum, orange marmalade-flavoured soda water, and his special ingredient, rosemary-smoked brown sugar, mixed up and poured over crushed ice.
“Our signature cocktail selection for Montecasino is a refreshing, flavour-filled medley of mixed drinks that are perfect for summer afternoons. Trendsetting mixology methods and modern ingredients were used to create the three cocktails, which perfectly suit the summer cocktail feel of the hotel’s refreshing outdoor deck,”explained Heath.
