Shades of India Festival kicks-off
FOURWAYS - A touch of India comes to South Africa.
Shades of India Festival kicked-off with a bang of entertainment extravagance at the Montecasino Ballroom on 26 November.
Indian Consul-General Randhir Jaiswal welcomed the guest at the gala dinner.
“India is known for its million colourful shades. Indians in this country have grown so much and added in their colourful cultures which blends well with rainbow nation of South Africa,” enthused the Indian Consul-General.
Entertainment line-up inlcuded top Indian dancers and the Shades of the India Show Band.
Among the high profile guests was MEC for Sport, Arts Culture and Recreation, Ms Molebatsi Bopape.
The festival promises to promote India’ rich heritage through, Indian cuisine, fashion and its diverse colourful culture in the African soil.
The festival will showcase a daily comedy jam from 27 – 30 November, at the outdoor Piazza, Montecasino.
The shows will feature the likes of “Peru and Bala – The Farewell Tour”, Sans Moonsamy, Joey Rasdien, Kaseran
Pillay, Zakkiya Khan and for good measure, the tallest Indian female comedian in South Africa, Karmen Naidoo. Come join us for four fun filled days of
