Manny de Freitas Foundation raises funds for prostate cancer

KENSINGTON – Manny de Freitas Foundation hosts successful Prostate Cancer Awareness dinner.

The O Garfo Portuguese restaurant in Kensington turned into a magical evening of a sea of blue as the Manny de Freitas Foundation (MdFF) hosted its Prostate Cancer Awareness dinner party.

The over 100 people that supported this initiative ensured that this opportunity was used to bring awareness to the fact that cancer can touch any man, irrespective of age or race.

As part of the fun, dance champions Savannah Esteves and Daniel Smuts-Steyn entertained and delighted everyone present.

Also present was the reigning Miss South Africa-Portugal, Teniqua da Fonseca.

In his address, Manny de Freitas said the Foundation plans to pioneer alternative cancer treatments which today are frowned upon.

”Proper controlled clinical trials need to be undertaken so that such treatments that are unacceptable today will be acceptable tomorrow,” said de Freitas.

Guests were asked to bring Christmas gifts for children who are either affected or overcoming cancer.

”I’d like to invite anyone interested to join me on 13 December when we hope to make this Christmas a little brighter than it would otherwise be,”
