Please bring back Father Christmas

RANDBURG – Bring back Father Christmas to Cresta.

Lynn Comley-White writes:

I would like to commend Cresta Centre on their lovely Christmas decorations this year [2014].

After having the same decorations for the last few years it was so nice to see something different.

There are just two problems though!

No. 1: Where was Father Christmas and his throne for the children to have photos, sitting on his knee?

I think this is the first time there has been no Father Christmas at Cresta Centre for absolute years!

The man walking around in a white Christmas suit is NOT Father Christmas – don’t know who he is – and many little ones just ignored him.

No. 2 : Where is the Nativity scene?

A couple of years ago I went to the Cresta Manager’s office to ask what had happened to the Nativity scene (which, by the way, was always tucked away near Stuttafords or downstairs in front of Mr Price Home where hardly anyone could see it!!) and the story they gave me was that the figures were being renovated because they were looking a bit worse for wear, “but would be back next year!”

That was Christmas 2012 and so far we have seen neither sight nor sound of the Nativity. After all, this is the whole point of Christmas.

If it offends people, well then, all the decorations should also offend because they indicate that it is Christmas time anyway.

Please, Cresta Centre bring back Father Christmas and especially, also the Nativity (a big one and placed in front of Woolworths so everyone can see it, please!!!)
