Little golfer plays international

EAGLE CANYON – Little multi-award-winning golfer Luka Stanisavlgevic also played international.

Little multi-award-winning golfer Luka Stanisavlgevic’s father taught him to always believe in himself.

The Grade 7 pupil from Trinityhouse Primary School Randpark Ridge said, “My father made me believe that I can make it no matter how hard, I am a winner today because of him.”

Stanisavlgevic (13), a resident at Eagle Canyon, represented Gauteng boys’ golfers at the Inter-Provincial Primary Schools Golf Tournament that took place in December where he came first.

The pupil started competing at the age of 10 when he entered the SA Golf Kids Tournament that took place in Glenvista.

“My first competition was not good at all. But because of what my father taught me, I had to keep going,” he said.

He said, “When playing, I don’t care whether I win or not, I just play my best.”

The young boy has been in Scotland and the USA representing SA.

Stanisavlgevic said he would consider relocating to the USA to make something out of his golf talent because there golf is big.

“All I have to do for now is to win all the amateur competitions until I qualify for professional tournaments,” he said.

He added, “I love maths and science. I am also studying hard because no matter how we excel in sports, we still need education as our back-up.”

“I love the subjects, so if it doesn’t work out for me in sport, no problem, I will still have my education,” he said.
