Trolley pushers are allowed on the road too
MALANSHOF – Trolley pushers are allowed to pull their trolleys on the road according to Metro police.
A motorist allegedly knocked over a trolley pusher on the morning of 12 April on Hans Schoeman Street leaving bottles strewn across the road.
According to Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, spokesperson for Metro police, it could not be confirmed whether or not the trolley pusher was injured.

Minnaar said the National Road Traffic Act does not prohibit trolley pushers from pulling their trollies on the road.
“It is important for drivers to remember to share the road with all other road users,” Minnaar said.
He said the contribution from trolley pushers was valid in the country’s economy.
“It is always advisable for motorists to watch their surroundings while driving. Either its trucks, buses or pedestrians, we all have to share the road,” he said.
