Toddies Preschool hosts first colour run in Olivedale
Local families came together to support a fun-filled fundraiser aimed at upgrading educational equipment and maintaining facilities.
Toddies Preschool in Olivedale held its first colour run on September 5, with local families turning out to support the fundraiser.
The event was organised by crèche owner and principal Hendrene Minchev, who has run Toddies Preschool since 1999. “We started in a small zozo hut,” she said, adding that they bought the property in 2006 and were picking up again after being hit quite hard by Covid-19.

The crèche usually holds a fun day, but Minchev wanted to try something new this year. She said the turnout was great and explained that the fundraiser would help maintain the school and upgrade its educational equipment.
Minchev said she was just as pleased with the atmosphere as she was with the numbers. “It was really good,” she said. “We have beautiful families in our school, and they all get to know each other and visit. Our turnout is absolutely amazing.”

She also joked about the good weather on the day. “Once you ask, you cannot doubt,” she said, adding that she had asked on Monday for it not to rain and was delighted that her wish was granted.
