Blairgowrie Swimming Pool ready for summer

BLAIRGOWRIE – Residents can expect to cool down at Blairgowrie Swimming Pool come summer time.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter said Blairgowrie Swimming Pool is ready for the summer season.

On 26 July, Potter joined MMC Nonhlanhla Sifumba on a visit to the pool to check its readiness for the opening of the City’s swimming pools on 1 September.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter and MMC Nonhlanhla Sifumba inspect the Blairgowrie Swimming to check its readiness for summer.

“Both the main pool and the baby swimming pool are in full working order and ready for the summer swimming season,” said Potter.

He said there are some basic property maintenance tasks to be done in both the change rooms and in the garden.

“There is a need in due course to paint the concrete around the swimming pool, budget dependent.”

Towards the end of last year, the pool received a full fibre glass upgrade.

“This is the first time in at least seven years that the mayoral committee member for community development has visited the pool before the opening for summer.

“This visit is welcome and reaffirms the new administration’s commitment to being a caring and committed government.”
