Annie’s Place invites you for a cup of coffee
NORTHWOLD – The Ann Harding Cheshire Home recently re-opened their coffee shop Annie's Place.
The Ann Harding Cheshire Home invites you to come and share a cup of joe’ at their recently re-opened coffee shop, Annie’s Place.
The coffee shop had to close its doors after the initial Covid-19 lockdown hit in March 2020 but is once again open to the public following strict Covid-19 hygiene protocols. “We are so excited that we can open to the public once again, and so are our regular customers,” said a long-time volunteer at the home Lorraine Tebbutt.
Annie’s Place opened in early 2019 and is beautifully decorated with generously donated furnishings. The coffee shop seeks to be the local go-to place for hot beverages, biscuits and cake in the heart of the community.
The name ‘Annie’s Place’ pays homage to the Ann Harding Cheshire Home where it is situated. The home’s charity shop has been running for several years and continues to generate extra income for the home’s running expenses by selling donated items from the community.
Tebbutt sees the coffee shop as an extension of this and hopes that it will become just as popular. “The coffee shop is an add-on to our charity shop, serving as a place of relaxation for the local community and a great way for people to see the variety of goods that we have to offer at the shop,” Tebbutt explained. Ahead of the chilly season, and to help with Covid-19 prevention, pull-down blinds are also due to be installed. “This was generously funded by the Australian High Commission through the Direct Aid Program, and will be installed soon,” added the Ann Harding Cheshire Home’s Jackie Kyle.
Tebbutt added, “For me, this is the community’s coffee shop, and the community needs to visit us to see what has been accomplished. We invite people to come and feel at home, and it will be great for them to interact with our residents too.”
