Remembering RCCI’s ‘Tower’ of kindness

FERNDALE – The Randburg Chamber of Commerce shares its heartfelt sentiments on the life of one of their own, the late Chose Choeu.

Worldly, a mentor, with a wealth of knowledge and full of integrity. These are just a few sentiments that are said to have best described the late Chose Choeu, who was, among many titles, the vice president of the Randburg Chamber Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

RCCI CEO, Linda Blackbeard, said Choeu was affectionately known as ‘Tower’ and he was always willing to uplift others and share what he knew with them, especially the youth. “His legacy will last for a very long time, as so many were blessed to know him and have benefited greatly from his wisdom, help, support and generosity.”

Her fondest memory of him was his infectious smile and burly laughter. “His love of jazz music, and mostly his red bow tie,” she said with a smile, adding he always looked debonair.
With a heavy heart, Blackbeard said Choeu would not only be missed by her but by the thousands of men and women, as well as boys and girls, who will sorely miss his warmth. She continued that everyone, no matter their education level, learned something of value from him.

Choeu was a past president of the South African Chamber for a number of years and was also a director on their board. “Thus, when he retired from his corporate world of employment and started his own business, we were honoured that he chose our chamber to join, as a member,” said Blackbeard.

Last year Choeu was unanimously elected as the vice president of the RCCI and the chamber was proud to have a man of his calibre on their board.

As to the legacy he leaves behind, Blackbeard said people many people he connected with shared their condolences with his family, sharing thoughts and feelings of what he meant to them. “His shoes will not be able to be filled with ease, a strong tower of man, yet so gentle in his kindness and loved he showed to all,” concluded Blackbeard.
