Easter egg hunt initiative keeps community together

Children in the Ferndale area enjoy the Easter egg hunt activity.

After two years without hosting the fun Easter activity due to lockdown, the annual Easter egg hunt was held in Ferndale on April 18.

“We are so lucky and blessed with the sunshine today. Together, we make a difference to our community and to our children’s faces,” said Aida Musper from Ferndale Residents against Crime (Frac).

Every year, Musper organises the event for the children in Ferndale area so they could have fun and enjoy Easter Monday. She said she had been organising the activity for a while, except during the Covid-19 when they had to stop.

“Our community is generous enough in donating some boxes of Easter eggs for us to make it happen for our kids in the community,” she said.

She thanked all the parents and Frac community members who attended the event. “Our aim as a community is to put smiles on our kids’ faces, at least something for them to look forward to. Hopefully, next year, we get more kids to participate and get more sponsors on that day,” she said.
