Cosmo’s aspiring star fetches her dreams
Cosmo City's rising star, Michele Ndlovu, stands out in her community as she reaches out for her dreams.
Nine-year-old Michele Ndlovu from Cosmo City is making a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
She is a voice-over artist, actress, model, and brand ambassador at Gugu hair salon in Hillbrow.
“I didn’t realise she had acting talent until she was just seven. At that time, when Michele played acting roles with her late sister, I first became aware of her skills, then I started recording her anytime she started acting and that’s when I knew I needed to do something with her skills,” Michele’s mother, Christine Ndlovu said.
The gifted fourth-grader of Cosmo City West Primary School hopes to encourage others to have ambitious dreams.
Ndlovu added that her daughter’s goal was to work as a professional actor and launch a TV programme that would inspire and encourage other children to pursue their goals.
Along her journey, Michele had to deal with the death of her sister.
“At the time of recognition in her modelling journey, Michele had to wear a smiley face while facing her sister’s death,” said Christine.
“It was a painful and tough time for all of us when we lost her sister a day before Michele’s competition, but we also had to be strong and give support to her as she was having a hard time since her sister was her best friend and the person who used to help her with her acting skills.”
Michele’s other interests lie in TV and radio presenting and singing.
She has featured in the local drama Stripped Ayeye and will soon be appearing on the screen again in Soweto TV’s Trusted Talks with Njabulo Zulu, and many more.
