Fast Sport Fusion gets new turf
The Fast Sport Fusion in Olds Parks bring new look and feel on their 5 aside pitches and invite teams to register for the new season in a new turf
The Fast Sports Fusion 5-a-side soccer and netball venue at Olds Parks has revamped its fields by laying down new turf.
The venue offers fast action-packed 5-a-side football and netball fives at both competitive level and social levels.
Fast Sport Fusion director Alistair Ndivhuho Silima said the plan was to lay new turf at the beginning of 2020 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they were unable to. “Our business like many others was affected by the pandemic but we were fortunate enough to have survived what many businesses didn’t due to the continuous support of our patrons and leniency of our landlord, Old Parks.”
Silima said they also had other plans in place. “We have a few tournaments lined up for the rest of the year. These are fun and everyone is invited to attend. We also host the Vega socials. We working on getting children’s one-on-one soccer training started as part of our social responsibility to our neighbourhood and surrounds, and getting former unemployed professionals soccer players to be part of this programme.”
They also invite teams to register for the Summer Season 2023 leagues.
“The league format has three divisions, the premier, 1st division and 2nd division. Each division consists of 10 Teams per night. A total of 150 teams participate in all our leagues. Teams generally start off in 2nd division with the hope of winning and advancing to a higher division the following season.”
He added the new season should be a good one with the newly upgraded pitches. “Already interest has increased and all leagues are almost 100% full. We are a community-orientated club where kids from the neighbourhood come to kick around and play on our free Xbox consoles.”
There are prizes up for grabs at the end of the season such as for the top goal scorer, best goal and best save, and cash prizes for the league winners.
