Exercising is good for your health and hygiene – SPAR runner

Community member discusses the importance of fitness after running a10km race.

Fitness is important because it is healthy for your heart and good for your hygiene in that sweat and hydration improves your skin health. Also, when you are fit and healthy you are eating right and your body responds to that.

In training, your heart rate is also better. When I exercise I honestly feel good. I feel strengthened and recharged after exercising.

For children, as young as they are, exercising is good for them. It should be instilled while they are still very young to exercise and and look after their body.

How often or hard someone should exercise is a difficult question to answer. For me it is not about the pace, because it is not a competition. If yo do 5km walking or running, do what feels comfortable for you. As long as there is movement, you are exercising, I think that is good enough.

I personally enjoyed running the 10km SPAR Women’s Challenge Jozi. I it was a lot of fun.
