Sharonlea Primary announces its 2024 leaders

Newly elected Sharonlea Primary School leaders were advised to lead by example at their inauguration.

Sharonlea Primary School presented their leaders for the year 2024 during the school inauguration assembly.

Paballo Taole was voted as the head girl of 2024 with Gabriella Mesane as her deputy. Head boy is Omogolo Ramabale and deputy Sameer Johns.

All the leaders made their pledge and committed to the responsibilities on the stage in front of their peers, teachers and parents. They light candles as part of the theme to be a light.

Principal Judy Ayres explained that the learners were chosen in 2023, and it was heavily reliant on the learners votes and the teachers that know them well.

“After it comes to my office and we then discuss and take a look at certain criteria but the learners vote carries a bit of weight. But we do it in a previous year so that we can have a month or two to observe and see how they are coping.”

The prefects then vote another for the head leaders. She commended the learners for voting for the well-deserved leaders.

The parents were also part of the inauguration assemblies. They were invited on stage to share the moment of excitement with the learners.

Head girl Taole said that she is excited and nervous with her new role. “The year is going to be very long, and I am excited. I will do the best to lead by example, and help wherever I can. I look forward to a good positive year.”
