In the festive spirit of Easter, Blairgowrie Primary School’s care and courage ambassadors hosted an Easter egg hunt, creating a memorable experience for Grade R learners and teachers of the Foundation Phase.
The event, filled with chocolate eggs and marshmallows, aimed to cultivate joy and connection in the school community.
Care and Courage ambassador Keragan Wilmot-Johnson expressed enthusiasm about the event. “Our Easter Egg Hunt was a blast. Not only did the learners have a hopping good time searching for eggs, but it was also a fantastic opportunity to share the spirit of Easter with them – it was all about kindness and giving.”

Inspired by their involvement with the Oasis Haven initiative, a charitable organisation emphasising sharing and kindness, the ambassadors aimed to spread joy within Blairgowrie Primary School. Wilmot-Johnson described the significance of the hunt as an opportunity to instil the values of sharing and kindness from Grade R.
“Our awesome ambassadors got their bunny ears on. To guide the little ones, we transformed the Grade R area with adorable bunny paw prints leading the way. And we stockpiled a mountain of eggs that got cleverly hidden.”
Wilmot-Johnson explained that the Grade R learners were filled with excitement and that the most heartwarming part was when the children expressed gratitude for the treats. “The way their eyes lit up and they said thank you for their treats. Those words were sweeter than any Easter eggs.”
Reflecting on the role of care and courage ambassadors, Wilmot-Johnson described them as superheroes for kindness. “We’re not afraid to show we care about others and make the world a brighter place. Being an ambassador myself, it’s the best feeling ever to help others and see the difference we make together.”
