Old Parks Sports Club held a successful annual tournament
Marlon Allamby explained that out of the soccer teams that host these types of events, Old Parks is the one that plays out phenomenally.
Old Parks Soccer Division has once again executed a superb Annual 6-a-side Tournament for different age groups.
The tournament has become renowned for being one of the best tournaments of the season and this year was even better than the others with 170 team participating over three days across multiple age groups.
The competition was high across all divisions as each team brought their A-game wanting to outperform their peers.
Marlon Allamby of Old Parks explained that the 2024 tournament was bigger and better than previous years and provided more food vendors for players and parents to enjoy.
He added they were challenged by load-shedding in making this tournament happen as this could affect the effectiveness of the tournament, especially on the Friday which was an evening game.
“However, this year the load-shedding schedule played into our favour once again with minimal impact on the games played. The marketing team executed a remarkable event. We started planning six months in advance ensuring that all possible risks are mitigated. Great planning allows for a seamless event with very few to no challenges.”
He added that they do not have an official sponsor for this event and are looking for one for 2025.
“We would like to thank all players for their participation to bring our community together through the beautiful game of soccer.”
