Hoërskool Randburg sweeps the Johannesburg North District Awards
Hard work and dedication paid off for Hoërskool Randburg at the Johannesburg North District Awards for matric Class of 2024.

Hoërskool Randburg was awarded the top academic school, as well as the best school in Circuit 4, at the Johannesburg North District Awards for matric Class of 2024.

Two learners made the top 10 in Johannesburg North, with Lisha Oberholzer clinching a number 6 position and Marissa van den Berg taking number 8.
Principal Pieter Booysen explained that the achievement is testimony to hard work and dedication by learners and educators alike, and serves to inspire future Grade 12 learners.

“We are extremely proud of our learners and their achievements, and thankful for the recognition they received from our district office. To witness this kind of academic performance sets an example of what can be achieved if you display a proper work ethic.”
The school also had nine ‘Best Subject’ achievers:
• Afrikaans – Lisha Oberholzer.
• English FAL – Cass Hattingh.
• Mathematics Literacy—Marissa van den Berg.
• Rapid technical training (RTT) – Kevin Marais.
• Dance – Marissa van den Berg.
• Drama – Jan-Rudolf Brits.
• Tourism – Jawé Dreyer.
• Hospitality – Dominique Treadway.
• Life orientation (LO) – Cass Hattingh.
In the district sport awards Kayle Botje was named Best Athlete of the Year. The lifetime achievement award was also awarded to the school for the impact their athletics has made in the Johannesburg North District.

Booysen added that talent will take you a long way, but hard work truly makes the difference. “These achievements are directly proportional to the hard work that preceded the final exams.”
