Yes We Can Business Networks unites women for business and charity

At a Galentine’s brunch at Blandford Manor, the Yes We Can Business Network celebrated women, business connections, and charity while supporting the Girl Child initiative.

The Yes We Can Business Network celebrated its Yes We Can Connect celebration with a Galentine’s brunch at Blandford Manor in Randburg. The event brought together women to connect, empower one another, and embrace self-love in the spirit of the month of love.

The Yes We Can Business Network is dedicated to uplifting women and youth across Africa by creating spaces for personal and professional connections. Keynote speaker Rene van Coller encouraged attendees to prioritise self-care, highlighting the importance of self-love, gratitude, exercise, sufficient sleep, and a balanced diet for personal rejuvenation.

As part of their commitment to social impact, the Yes We Can Connect Ladies pledged to support the Girl Child initiative by sponsoring Ubuntu Dignity Packs. These packs provide sanitary pads for 12 months to help keep girls in school.

Director Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley emphasised that organisations should focus on making meaningful, sustainable change rather than using charity initiatives for publicity. She stressed that genuine community service leads to long-term positive impact.

Co-founder Diana Masura welcomed the attendees and shared the organisation’s vision for 2025. She invited women to participate in the upcoming 2nd International Multisector Women’s Conference, scheduled for May 22 and 23 at the Cresta Lodge Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The event also featured Queen Mata’s Afrolace African print Ecobags, an initiative aimed at reducing plastic waste.

The community is encouraged to support her goal of selling 6 700 bags at R67 each for Mandela Month in July. Queen Mata, an award-winning AfriCAN EARTHhizen, promotes environmental awareness through her partnership with AfriCAN EARTHizens, founded by Thyssen-Ambursley. Their #StopUsingPlasticBags campaign advocates for eco-friendly alternatives, such as bags made from repurposed PVC banners.
