Community Heroes continues with the clean-up initiatives
A group of volunteers from different communities gathered at President Fouché Drive for a massive clean-up.
The Community Heroes group, made up of residents from Bromhof, Boskruin, Northworld, and surrounds, came together for a significant clean-up along President Fouché Drive, specifically between CR Swart Dr and Kelly Avenue.

This wasn’t just about tidying up; it was part of a larger, ongoing mission to transform key entrances to the areas and uplift neglected spaces that affect how residents feel about their neighbourhood.
Nikki Belt explained that their goal was to beautify, restore, and inspire – to create an environment they proudly call home.
“Beyond the aesthetic impact, these changes contribute to a stronger, safer, and more connected community. When spaces are cared for, crime tends to decrease, and the sense of belonging grows,” she said.

She added clean-ups were more than just the work but were about unity. Volunteers of all ages showed up, ready to tackle the grime and overgrowth with grit and heart.
Local businesses also showed generosity by keeping the volunteers fuelled and refreshed. Del Forno, Bromhof provided much-needed sustenance and Jarlay Solar and Metering gifting safety vests that made the team feel like a force of nature.
“Thanks to local businesses for the incredible generosity and their continued support, dating back to our very first pothole fix. It shows the power of standing together. This wouldn’t be possible without our community’s involvement – buying raffle tickets, sharing posts, and showing up in person. Every action matters.”
Belt said they were committed to holding community volunteer days every second weekend.
“This project isn’t a one-time clean-up, it’s about ongoing maintenance and pride. To those who joined us thank you – you are the heart of this movement. And to those who haven’t joined yet, we’re saving you a spot.”
