Summerfield residents dazzle at Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Residents of Summerfield Park gathered in colourful hats for a joyful Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, enjoying laughter, food, and creativity in a magical setting.

Residents of Summerfield Park were treated to a morning of fun, creativity, and laughter as the community came together for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party held at the park.

The event transformed the space into a whimsical Wonderland, where colourful hats and cheerful chatter set the tone for a truly delightful gathering. Inspired by the classic tale, Alice in Wonderland, residents arrived wearing imaginative and playful headpieces, from teacup towers to floral crowns, each showing off their unique flair.

“We wanted to do something different, something that would get everyone smiling and excited,” said Lee-Ann Benney, from Summerfield Park. “The idea was simple, bring a creative hat and join the fun. And the residents did not disappoint.”

Adding to the magic of the day was a generous surprise sponsorship from Checkers Hyper Fourways. The store provided a delicious spread of sandwiches and hot cross buns, which were enjoyed by all in attendance.

The tea party was more than just a themed event; it brought together residents in a light-hearted, creative way, reminding everyone of the joy that can be found in shared moments and a touch of imagination.

“The goal was to bring the community closer, encourage a bit of creativity, and most importantly, have a good laugh together,” added Benney.

Judging by the smiles and compliments shared throughout the day, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party was a true success, which left everyone looking forward to the next community event.
