Motorists are advised to avoid Kelly Avenue near The Barn Church this morning after a taxi overturned, resulting in traffic delays and raising concerns about road safety.

Emergency medical services (EMS) responded quickly to the scene and confirmed that all passengers were being treated and would be taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious.

“Just an update on the scene of the accident. All patients are being treated and will be transported to a medical facility. Injuries are not too serious. Please note that one lane on Kelly Avenue is still closed, so avoid the area or use an alternative route if you can,” said a spokesperson from EMS.

A resident who witnessed the accident shared their frustration about the regular dangers on that road.

“I take my son to work every morning and travel on Kelly Road. There is always a queue of cars. The taxis travel down the wrong side of the road, straight into oncoming traffic, so I’m not surprised this happened,” the resident said.

Drivers are advised to be extra cautious when travelling in the area and to report reckless driving where possible.

Authorities have not confirmed the exact cause of the crash, but investigations are ongoing.
