Linden Community Policing Forum reflects on a meaningful 2025 and extends warm holiday wishes
After a year filled with safety initiatives, and heartfelt community moments, the Linden CPF shares its gratitude and looks ahead to a connected and stronger 2026.
As 2025 comes to a close, the Linden Community Policing Forum (CPF) is looking back on a year marked by service, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to community safety and unity.
Chairperson Annelize Tichauer explained that they are humbled by what residents and volunteers achieved over the past 12 months. “As we reach the close of another whirlwind year, it’s truly remarkable how quickly time has passed. This year has been busy, challenging, and deeply meaningful, filled with laughter, heartfelt connections, and a genuine spirit of community.”
She reflected on the many highlights that shaped 2025. The CPF’s Easter Bunny initiative brought joy to children at Stodels, at Ferndale on Republic, and crèches across Windsor, while food parcel deliveries offered comfort to families and elderly residents facing hardship. Crèche operational visits ensured safe spaces for young children, and the abandoned baby workshop helped the victim support team with vital skills for moments that require extraordinary compassion.

Youth Day celebrations brought colour and pride to the precinct, and Mandela Day became a standout moment. 1 922 books were donated, sorted, and delivered to early learning centres, old age homes, orphanages, and libraries. The year also included the much-loved Fun at Ferndale on Republic event, where 100 children enjoyed sponsored funfair rides and pizza, many experiencing such a day for the first time.
Safety remained a central priority. Four crime imbizos brought Linden SAPS, CPF members, and private security partners directly to residents, strengthening collaboration and awareness. The year closed with the CPF’s powerful 16 days of art activism against gender-based violence exhibition at Cresta Mall.
Tichauer extended a special message to Malanshof residents, who are set to enjoy a long-awaited peaceful festive season following the closure of a problematic liquor establishment. “None of this would be possible without the collective effort of so many. Our heartfelt thanks go to our protectors in blue, Linden SAPS, and to our dedicated security company partners who, as part of #TeamLinden, work tirelessly to keep our neighbourhoods safe every single day. We see you.”

As the year ends, the CPF wishes all residents a peaceful festive season and a bright, united start to 2026. “As we step into a brand-new year, we’re excited for what lies ahead. Every connection we make and every moment we engage with our community brings us one step closer to a safer, more united Linden SAPS precinct. We’re gearing up for a busy and energetic start to 2026, and we encourage all residents to get involved, participate, and be part of the momentum.”
