Resident association chairperson looks at 2024 highlights
Facing issues such as crime and municipal service delivery in 2024, the Randridge Residents’ Association hopes 2025 will be a prosperous new year for it's members, as well as the community at large.
Quinn Lubbe, chairperson of the Randridge Residents’ Association (RRA), had several highlights this year, but most notable was the RRA market.
This was the first market and family day that the RRA has organised, and it was a well-attended by both residents and members of the public from outside of the area.
“We have committed to making this an annual event, and we hope to make it even bigger next year, with more vendors and activities for the family.”

Lubbe named the association’s administrator, Ina Wessels, as his local hero for 2024. He explained that she works tirelessly in assisting residents, going above and beyond to help them with the various issues they have.
“She is also incredibly fastidious in reporting municipal issues in our area, and following up in ensuring that they are resolved. Much of the work that the RRA does would not be possible if it were not for her selfless commitment.”
The RRA had two biggest areas of concern in 2024, which were municipal service issues and crime. Lubbe said municipal service delivery is an ongoing problem, however, with the constant reporting of these issues, they have seen results.

“We are fortunate enough to live in a boomed off suburb, which does deter criminals. However, we are still seeing incidents of crime, and we are constantly trying to implement measures to combat criminal activity. We are fortunate to have a loyal membership base that supports the work of the RRA in keeping our neighbourhood safe and well looked after, but we do hope that more residents will come on board.”
He wishes all residents a blessed and peaceful festive season. “If you are travelling, do so safely. 2024 has been a challenging year and we hope that this festive season will be a time that families can spend together, taking a well-deserved break.”
