IIE-Vega School leads in creative excellence at 2024 Pendoring Awards
IIE-Vega School has been ranked the number one institution in the country at the 2024 Pendoring Awards held at University of Johannesburg’s Arts Centre
Independent Institute of Education (IIE)-Vega School has been ranked top creative institution in the country at the prestigious 2024 Pendoring Awards.
The Pendoring Awards celebrate outstanding creative work in South Africa’s indigenous languages and was held at the University of Johannesburg’s Arts Centre.
Outperforming other institutions, like Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography and AAA School of Advertising, Vega students showcased an impressive blend of innovation and cultural authenticity that set them apart. The 2024 awards celebrated excellence in indigenous-language creativity, with Vega students earning gold and craft gold accolades for groundbreaking projects such as Die Vrylopende Afrikaner and Celebrate Your Identity.

This recognition affirms the school’s position as the leader in growing creative talent that pushes boundaries while honouring South Africa’s cultural identity.
Eben Keun, general manager of the Pendoring Awards, lauded the institution’s achievement. “The school has excelled as the top institution in the 2024 Pendoring rankings, showcasing work inspired by cultural nuance and meaning. As one of the first Vega graduates in 2000, I am incredibly proud of my alma mater on a personal level.”
Themed #SayItInYourLanguage, Vega students showcased their ability to connect with South Africa’s cultural heritage through impactful design and storytelling. Their work resonated with authenticity, capturing the diverse voices of our nation and reflecting creativity grounded in culture.

Dr Carla Enslin, director postgraduate and research centre of Vega School, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments. “The recognition of our students at the 2024 awards highlights the incredible talent, dedication, and cultural insight they bring to their craft.
