Thobile looks up to Katlego Malebane, a former Sundowns development player, who inspires her with her relentless work ethic. It’s this same determination that Thobile channels into her role as an attacking and defensive midfielder, a position she enjoys for its dynamic nature and her ability to contribute on both ends of the field.

Her journey to Randburg AFC began with trials last year, where she impressed coaches while playing as a right winger. Her impact was immediate. She became the team’s vice-captain, captained the side during the Engen Cup, and helped her team secure the league title in her first year.

One of her proudest moments came when she scored a stunning goal while playing for her former team, a memory that still brings her joy. Balancing football and school has always been a challenge, but Thobile manages it with discipline, often studying late into the night after training.

Playing for Randburg AFC has been an incredible experience for Thobile. She thrives in the team’s supportive environment, crediting their strong team spirit and camaraderie for their success. Despite a challenging season, the team bounced back from a tough loss to win the 2024 league – a testament to their resilience and belief in themselves.

Thobile dreams of becoming the ‘Ladies Player of the Season’ at Randburg AFC, and eventually playing for a major team like Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies. Off the field, she hopes to build a dream house for her mother and create a fulfilling life that reflects their shared aspirations.

For young girls aspiring to play football, Thobile offers sage advice: “Start playing early, as age in football goes faster than you think. Work hard while you’re young to increase your chances of playing for big teams.”

Her admiration for Liverpool Ladies showcases her love for the game on a global level, but she remains grounded in her South African roots. Thobile believes that women’s football in South Africa deserves more attention and investment, as the focus still heavily leans toward men’s football.

Football has not only shaped Thobile as an athlete but also as a person. The sport has taught her values like respect, discipline, and teamwork while keeping her away from negative influences. Her passion for football continues to drive her, making her a role model for aspiring players in her community.

Thobile’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, resilience, and the unwavering support of family. With her eyes set on greater achievements, she is a rising star to watch in the world of women’s football.
