Road closure: President Fouche Road closed due to pipe burst

A burst pipe on President Fouche Drive has sparked safety concerns. Motorists and residents alike have been advised to use alternative routes.

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) has temporarily closed President Fouche Road between Kelly Avenue and CR Swart Drive due to a burst pipe.

The agency has advised motorists affected by the closure to use the following alternative routes:

  • From CR Swart Drive (east): Turn left at Tin Road, right at Kelly Avenue and left at President Fouche Road.
  • From CR Swart Drive (west): Turn right at Kowie Road, left at Kelly Avenue and then left at President Fouche Road.
  • From President Fouche Road (north): Turn left at CR Swart Drive, right at Tin Road, right Kelly Avenue and then left at President Fouche Road.
  • From President Fouche Road (south): Turn right at Kelly Avenue, left at Tin Road and then left at CR Swart Drive until you reach President Fouche Road.

The JRA has cautioned motorists and those affected by the road closure to be cautious when avoiding the area where the pipe burst occurred.

“Expect delays and consider avoiding the area if possible. Plan your alternative route in advance, “said the agency in a statement.
