Eligible South African citizens are reminded to bring valid identification and register where they live to ensure they can vote in the upcoming Ward 102 by-election.
Residents of Ward 102 are reminded to take part in this weekend’s voter registration drive ahead of the upcoming by-election, according to Ward 102 stand-in councillor Bea Campbell-Cloete.
Campbell-Cloete has urged eligible residents to register or update their voter details during the voter registration weekend taking place on January 10 and 11. Voting stations will be open from 08:00 to 17:00 on both days.
The registration process will be overseen by the Independent Electoral Commission and will be available at the following voting stations: Laerskool Fontainebleau, Bordeaux Primary School, Blairgowrie Community Centre, St Stithians Girls’ College, and Bryanston High School.

To register, residents must be South African citizens and are required to bring a green barcoded ID book, Smartcard ID, or a temporary ID certificate.
Campbell-Cloete stressed that registering is essential for residents who wish to vote in the upcoming by-election, and reminded voters that they must register where they currently live to ensure they are correctly placed in Ward 102.
She also encouraged residents to share the information with friends, family, and neighbours in the area, noting that strong voter participation is vital for effective local representation.
The voter registration weekend forms an important step in ensuring that all eligible Ward 102 residents are able to take part in the by-election when it is held.
