Hawks, Falcons and Eagles make waves at Knights Prep Gala

Knights Preparatory School hosted another successful annual swimming gala.

The sun shone over blue water as Knights Preparatory School held its annual swimming gala on February 19.

Excitement filled the air as the school houses, Hawks, Eagles, and Falcons marched to the poolside, waving and cheering. Although the houses battled for the trophy, the day’s spirit was larger than victory.

One by one, swimmers stepped up. Some were confident and ready, diving and swimming through the water like champions. Others were nervous, taking deep breaths before splashing in.

The loudest cheers from friends, teachers and parents were not reserved for the fastest racers. Instead, every learner who swam was celebrated with equal applause and encouragement.

Teachers and parents’ faces were beaming with smiles as classmates chanted house songs and war cries. By the end of the gala, it was clear: courage, teamwork, and sportsmanship had truly won the day.

Jamie Chait, head of the co-curricular activities, said that with all the planning and the effort, the day was a huge success. “It was a fantastic day where we had all our swimmers taking part, and we had our spirit and our cheerleaders doing their thing, and it was a great morning of swimming.

“It was a great division between children who really excel in the pool, as well as children who were there to make it across and get points. It was a very inclusive day aimed at all the children.”

The gala ended in fun style with learners pushing their teachers across the pool in beanbags and an intense yet fun race of teachers, parents and learners.
