Stadio claims 1–0 win over eta College
After an intense, injury ridden match at Randburg Football Club, Stadio walked away with a 1–0 victory over eta College.
Stadio walked away with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over eta College in an intense soccer match played at Randburg Football Club on May 15.
The match formed part of a college clash between the two institutions, with both sides eager to secure a win at the end of the match. Upon kickoff, eta hit the ground running early, creating attacking opportunities and applying pressure. Despite the positive start, Stadio’s defence remained organised, showcasing great discipline.

Within the first half, Stadio came across a breakthrough, captalising on a scoring opportunity which led to a 1-0 score. The goal brought life back to spectators who started cheering as the game continued.
The match went to half time with a score of 1–0. In the second half the game became physical, with frequent injuries occurring. Eta were awarded a free kick after an injury on one of their players, but failed to hit the net. They tried to push forward, in search of a goal scoring opportunity, but Stadio maintained its momentum. The game saw further injuries, including one involving the Stadio goalkeeper.

Despite the disruptions, eta continued its goal attempts and got a penalty that could have resulted in an equaliser. However, the penalty was missed, allowing Stadio to maintain the lead until the end of the game.

Stadio coach Tinotenda Ruvinga praised his team’s performance after the match. “It’s a good result, especially because the boys have been waiting for this opportunity to showcase their talent and show people that Stadio is actually a team.”
Stadio goal scorer Sandile Nkambule said he was pleased to contribute to the team’s winning goal. “I am happy to see the guys happy. I feel like I did my job.”
Eta College coach Scott Zondi said the team would learn from the defeat and improve moving forward. “We didn’t have enough time to work because we only started preparing two weeks ago, and most of our players were not coming to training. We’ll take this one as a lesson and move on.”
